Support Group Information
The NOFAS Support Group was established in 1998 by Kathleen Mitchell, NOFAS vice president and national spokesperson. Ms. Mitchell is the birth parent of a daughter with FAS. She recognized the need to increase support for families, caregivers and individuals touched by this disability. The group has grown to include more than 30 families from Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Members meet every third Tuesday of the month and share experiences, discuss strategies and learn about current issues. Locations of the meetings vary each month between localities in Maryland, Virginia and the District. For more information, contact Erin Frey at frey@nofas.org.
